I’m Christopher Lane, a London based theatre director whose special interest is in working with heightened texts, be they classical or musical.  I also extend my hand to new writing, modern drama, and theatre-in-education.  Originally from Canada, I began directing in 2001 and have a long history as an actor, having begun performing at the age of nine.

I believe in using movement as a means to develop and refine both actors’ performances and my directorial endeavours. This, in conjunction with thoroughly mining texts and marrying them to strong production concepts and, where possible, dynamic theatre spaces, has lead me to a directorial style that is firmly routed in the notion of good storytelling, honest performances, and high production values.
